Course Description
The AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner examination is intended for individuals who have the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively demonstrate an overall understanding of the AWS Cloud, independent of specific technical roles addressed by other AWS Certifications. The exam can be taken at a testing center or from the comfort and convenience of a home or office location as an online proctored exam.
Becoming an AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner is a recommended, optional step toward achieving an Associate-level or Specialty certification.
Program Objectives
It validates an examinee’s ability to:
- Explain the value of the AWS Cloud.
- Understand and explain the AWS shared responsibility model.
- Understand AWS Cloud security best practices.
- Understand AWS Cloud costs, economics, and billing practices.
- Describe and position the core AWS services, including compute, network, databases, and storage.
- Identify AWS services for common use cases.
Prerequisite
This cert is perfect for anyone in a non-technical role who needs a general understanding of the AWS platform. For example, IT salespeople can learn to speak with confidence and authority when a conversation touches on a customer’s AWS investments, and it can also help people in finance, management, and business roles communicate more clearly with their IT colleagues.
Amazon recommends six months of AWS experience before taking this exam, but that experience can be in any capacity, including technical and non-technical roles (e.g., sales, management, finance). In practice, your prep time—set aside at least six hours for study and review—is far more important for passing this exam.
